Who is Doris Day ...

that's what I want to know! Call the SPCA, now! No chickens allowed! Wheek! [Doris Day is a chicken. She belongs to Dana who gives the guinea pigs some of her organic veggies from her garden from time to time. The chicken loves Dana's dogs and follows them around. At night she sleeps in a box in the house. The amazing thing is that there are beautiful hardwood floors in the home and I never see any droppings from Doris. I always forget my camera when I go over so I miss the great photos of her by the coffee table but the ones taken outdoors and in the basement are just as special. No more hiding in the drawer! Wheek! [Willie seems to think that quality control is his job so he makes sure that he tests all of the handmade items that come in here. He feels that his best work is done when no one is looking. Please click the photo to view a larger image of Willie hard at work.]

Nick and Kylie are roommates

... what's with that??? She lived with Emma Lou! Wheek! [Emma Lou was separated from Kylie after her  former family found out that she was pregnant. As a result, they ended up hating each other and got into fights when placed together. Kylie was tried with two other females and another male before she decided that Nick was okay to have as a cage mate.]

Visit to Dr. D again

... Lucky and Nick-a-roo! Cut the nails yourself! Hellllllllllllllllllllooooooooooooo! Wheek! [Lucky, my three legged rabbit, had his yearly exam and he is healthy which is nice. Nick had another post-op exam following his neuter. He is still having problems but he was given the okay to be put with another pig. 3 loads of laundry?

Hellllllooooooooo? What's with the tons of laundry???? Who does it belong to? I want to know now! Wheek! [GPF has about three commercial loads of laundry per week with all of the fleece bedding and pads that are used for the cages.]

Pumpkin is up here now

... it's about time! Now she can have lots of fun! [Pumpkin had a major hair loss that could not be reversed. It was believed that she had ovarian cysts or possibly Cushing's disease. She also had bumble foot when she first arrived and had trouble with her droppings. Both were resolved but her hair loss, slightly labored breathing, and facing the cage base side did not resolve nor did the lump in her abdomen. Since she was not a candidate for surgery it was considered more humane to have her PTS.]

Ivermectin Patrol arrived!

Why? Sammy came back scratching, that's why! Wheek! [Sammy came back from his adoption scratching a bit so all of the guinea pigs got here got a preventative dose of Ivermectin this weekend.]

Jenni is back on the cam ...

with Angelina! Yeah! [Sammy lived with Jenni for a while before he went to live with Daisy and most recently, Emma Lou. Angelina and Jenni seem to be doing well as cage mates and are now featured on the cam so that Angelina's former caretaker can see her. She loves Angelina very much but has returned to her homeland in Europe with her family.]

Sammy's back!

What's with that?????????? Where's Gloria?! Call the SPCA, now! Wheek! [Sammy went to an awesome new home last week to live with Gloria, a female who had just lost her longtime female companion due to an ovarian cyst. They seemed to hit if off right away but in the end Gloria was not pleased with having Sammy there so he came back to GPF. He was tried with two different females when he came back since he seemed a bit stressed living with Daisy. The bonding attempt with Kylie failed but it did work with Emma Lou. Emma Lou is a young female who had babies recently. The family decided to keep the babies and try to find homes for both Emma and her former cagemate Klyie. Emma and Sammy seem to be doing fine at the moment. Please click the photos to view larger images.]

Jenni and Angelina look beautiful!

Why? They got baths today, that's why! Wheek! [Both Angelina and Jenni seem to be doing quite well paired up together. This is good news since they were previously paired with females who harassed and bit them.]

All the females hate each other!

Not good! Call the guinea pig police, now! No more separate cages! Wheek!!! [Kylie and Emma Lou were each tried separately with Daisy since she is currently by herself now that Sammy is in SF with Gloria. All three are stronger personalities so, unfortunately, none of the bonding attempts worked.]
